Recognizing and treating a group of complex multi-systemic connective tissue disorders: Ehlers-Danlos syndromes and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD)
This module explains the varying presentations, possible interventions, and management options of the Ehlers-Danlos syndromes and their comorbid conditions. Medical professionals will be introduced to the new classification of the Ehlers-Danlos syndromes and the current diagnostic criteria. Furthermore, the physician will gain basic knowledge of the multi-systemic nature of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome by learning about cardiovascular, neurologic, gastrointestinal, genito-urinary, allergic/immunologic, hematologic, mast cell-related, and musculoskeletal complications and adequate multi-disciplinary treatment approaches thereof. After finishing this program, the participant will be able to recognize and accurately intervene when confronted with people living with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and related disorders.
